STOP! Stop running, stop hiding behind your awesome plans, stop trying so hard to be the Superman or woman that you are not.

We bind ourselves so tightly, planning every minute, meeting after meeting, no time to waste, by running our race like a crazy person. You watch and worship the motivational gurus – Go faster, do more, never stop, work harder, push yourself to go farther!

We are wasting our strengths and depleting our resources, racing after a life that will be over in a blink. John Rockefeller, perhaps the richest man in the world, died in 1937. A reporter was able to work his way to a meeting with his accountant and asked him, “How much did he leave?”. The accountant said, “All of it”. People believe in throwing themselves into their work with abandon, no matter the cost. Cost of family, cost of sanity, cost of self. If you think this is life, you will die empty and useless.

Stop. Listen. Breathe. Look, taste, FEEL. There is something, someone in your path today. Someone within a stone’s throw of you now that needs you. Someone that is suffering, someone that is drowning, someone who has fallen and needs your grace, your help, your love. Someone YOU can save today but you’re too busy faking your gloriousness to notice. They’re dying right next to you and you’re worried about the shading of your selfy. A co-worker; a friend; a relative. A stranger. They need you to be present; to care. This world needs you. Yes, you. But we need you to pay attention, to be alive, to live in harmony with why you are here; why you still have the luxury of breath.

There is an invisible universe all around you. It is governed by God. He needs you to be His hands, His feet, His voice, His pen. But it will cost you. I’ll repeat, it will cost – YOU. Yourself. Your life. Your dreams. The one you are already failing at. Oh, but the glory! His glory, His plans for you are so much more than you have the imagination for. You are meant to be here, now. You are meant to have a life worth more than you’ve imagined. To do that, look to Him. He knows, and following His will can lead you to a life full of glory. One you can truly be proud of.

If you truly want your life to mean something. STOP. Listen – He is speaking to you.

Narrow is the path. But oh, the reward that is His Promise…
